Stories on Stage Special Event, Chicago
Tuesday 7:30 PM
Come in from the cold and hear three short stories read on stage by fabulous actors. Elizabeth Berg's story will be"Returns and Exchanges," originally commissioned by Stories on Stage and now in her short story collection THE DAY I ATE WHATEVER I WANTED. It's absolutely transporting to hear stories read out loud, especially in the company of many others. And you'll be contributing to a really good cause: proceeds from ticket sales will help make Kathe Telingator's documentary film called "Under One Roof" about the relationship between black housekeepers, their white employers, the white children they may have helped raise, and their own children, between the mid 1950s and early 1970s in the North, in the midst of the Civil Rights Movement.
A reception with the authors will follow.
